Between my recent travels, conferences and articles, it’s been a while since I’ve been able to blog, or even email many people. One of those reasons is because of this announcement!
After an intensive application and interview process and a tight-lipped past few months, I’m excited to say that I’ve been chosen to join the Boston Mayor’s Office as one of his two inaugural Greenovate Boston Fellows!
For the next couple of years, I’ll be expanding the communications strategy for Mayor Tom Menino’s climate action plan (which includes reducing Boston’s emissions by 25% through community engagement) and helping shape the city’s environmental policies towards becoming the “greenest” in the U.S.
As we’ve witnessed recently, an aggressive plan like Mayor Menino’s is both timely and necessary, and I’m so excited to be able to leverage my legal, journalism and public service backgrounds in such an important way—and for a cause I’ve been dedicated to my whole life. (The position starts in December, and I will continue freelance writing on the side.)
